The SAE of Torino, in collaboration with ANFIA (National Association of Automotive Industry) and ATA (Automobile Technical Association) promoted a conference on CO2 reduction technologies for sustainable transport systems, both in Terms of improving the efficiency of the thruster group than in terms of reducing the energy demand of the vehicles.

The focus of the event has been focused on CO2 reduction technologies for sustainable transport systems and has involved all stakeholders, including vehicle manufacturers, suppliers of components and systems, public bodies, decision-makers, engineers and Researchers.

Corporate keynotes, technical presentations and roundtables have offered the public a comprehensive overview of the state of the art of the most innovative transport systems technology from an international perspective.

The technical programme has provided interesting insights into important topics such as: future regulations and trends, alternative fuels, electrification and hybridization technologies, vehicle energy demand reduction technologies, Improvement of energy management on board, Light technologies.

Many of the interventions of skilled experts in the field and academics who for years have dedicated their research to the renewable energy sector: in this second sector particular mention have deserved the speeches of Professor Timothy Johnson (Corning Inc.) On modern engines at the energy center of Politecnico di Torino and Professor Giorgio Rizzoni (Ohio State University) entitled “Connected and automated vehicles and advances in powertrain control to achieve unprecedented fuel economy gains” (vehicles Connected and automated and proposed in the powertrain control to achieve unprecedented gains in fuel economy).

The Prof. Gianfranco Rizzo has been there to present the LIFE-SAVE project to an audience composed of both companies and research groups from all over the world.

Altogether, conference participants were more than 400 with the participation of more than 70 qualified speakers from prestigious associations, universities, research centres and both Italian and foreign industries.
